Этот сборник создавался, чтобы помочь аудиофилу определить оптимальные места для установки колонок своей аудиосистемы, чтобы получить лучшее звучание. Более 115 минут музыки, звуковых сэмплов и советов по настройке акустических систем. Альбом включает в себя 13 треков голосовых инструкций по размещению и настройке громкоговорителей, которые также воспроизводятся в сопроводительной брошюре на 61 странице с яркими, полезными иллюстрациями. Остальные 56 треков содержат музыкальные и звуковые фрагменты с широким динамическим диапазоном (от 20 Гц до 50 кГц) для критической оценки процесса позиционирования колонок, а также замечательные музыкальные треки для прослушивания. Также в конце сборника находятся записи, призванные оценить максимальную басовую отдачу системы. По словам Рене Ляфламма (René Laflamme), одного из основателей студии, работа заняла около 100 часов, в которые вошли запись и мастеринг. 2xHD — это союз музыканта, продюсера, композитора, инженера звукозаписи Андре Перри (André Perry) и звукоинженера Рене Ляфламма. К мнению последнего прислушиваются такие производители компонентов, как dCS, Nagra и Kronos Audio. В 2xHD используется собственная одноименная технология мастеринга, включающая в себя «преимущества от симбиоза лучших аналоговых технологий с цифровыми, но без цифрового шума». Из оборудования в студии используют модифицированный ламповый ЦАП Nagra HD DAC для создания максимально аналогового звука из цифрового источника и АЦП Merging Technologies Horus для конвертации сигнала в DSD 11.2.
