Mario Kart 8 – продолжение серии аркадных гонок, где в соревнованиях участвуют персонажи вселенной Mario. Для победы в заезде нужно не только проявить мастерство вождения, но и всячески мешать оппонентам. При этом сами заезды происходят не только на поверхности земли, но и под водой. Также встречаются фрагменты трасс с нулевой гравитацией, позволяя гонщикам свободно ездить по стенам и потолкам.
