Веб-приложения позволяют создавать и получать доступ к документам из любого места, также обмениваться файлами и сотрудничать с другими пользователями с помощью браузера. Поддерживаемые браузеры: Internet Explorer 7 и более поздние версии Mozilla Firefox 3,5 и более поздние версии Google Chrome Safari 4 Приложения Office Web Apps стали доступны для пользователей SkyDrive 7 июня 2010 года. Корпорация Microsoft также предлагает другие веб-приложения, такие как Outlook Web App (ранее Outlook Web Acess), Lync Web Аpp и Project Web App. Microsoft официально выпустила техническую предварительную версию Office Web Apps 17 сентября 2009 года.
