Англ. описание
While the PlayStation Portable’s main selling point was of course its software library, the handheld’s other pulling power was its versatility. Doubling up as a multimedia system capable of playing movies and mp3s, there was plenty on offer with Sony’s 2004 platform. While these features rarely crossed over, Kuju Entertainment’s recently discovered unreleased title Melodie was hoping to mix your music collection into the gameplay. Although the combination of video games and music was anything but new at the time thanks to Vib Ribbon, Melodie was one of the earliest titles to make use of gamer’s mp3 collections alongside Amped on the Microsoft Xbox. This unusual title which never saw the light of day supposedly read data from both your photographs and music to create a unique platforming experience - at least that’s how one of the original artists who worked on the game remembers it. Remaining completely unheard of until now, Tommy1603 of the AssemblerGames message board recently started a new topic to discuss his discovery of Melodie. Having purchased a PSP DTP-T1000 Development System online, he was amazed to discover that a prototype disc was still sat within the hardware upon arrival. Despite uncovering this one-of-a-kind item, he has since shared the contents of the Melodie prototype online for all to enjoy. The game itself requires a PlayStation Portable running custom firmware, however, judging by some of the comments from those who have downloaded the game it appears to be a bit fussy on which systems it runs on. Either way, those interested should head on over to the on-going discussion to find out more about this elusive multimedia experience.
