Oct 27, 2021 — v3.2:v3.2v3.2 adds local replays along with some gameplay consistency improvements.
local replays- replays for 10 most recent runs are kept automatically and can be manually saved to keep longer.
- access by navigating to LEADERBOARDS -> STATS -> LOCAL REPLAYS
- local replays for custom spawnsets will work automatically and will show the name of the spawnset if it was downloaded from DevilDaggers.info
gameplay changes- lvl4 homing can now ricochet off empty centipede/gigapede segments.
- destroyed gigapede segments have a darker texture on the legs, making remaining gems easier to spot.
- spider2 corpse erode animation starts sooner.
- centipede emerge particle effect more accurately shows where it will emerge.
- ghostpede will always emerge with weak points facing the centre of the arena.
- spider hitbox scales to match spawn animation.
- delay on lvl4 homing detonate is reduced from 2 frames to 1.
- skulls, spider eggs, and thorns no longer absorb more lvl4 homing daggers than are needed to kill them.
- skull2 and skull3 chatter is higher priority when close.
Native Linux build is also updated along with some bug fixes.
Mac build coming soon.
Feb 19, 2021 — v3.1:5 year anniversary QOL update.To thank our community and celebrate Devil Daggers' 5 year anniversary we've released a quality of life update.
• Unique dagger for players with 1000 seconds or more.
• Replay scrubbing, allows you to instantly skip to any part of a replay.
• Stats and graphs in replays.
• Optimizations have been made throughout the game, improving performance by up to 5x or more in some cases.
- Improved fps limiter and added slider to options menu.
- Added volume slider for menu music.
- Changed default fov from 75 to 90.
- Added gem/homing counter (toggle by pressing 2).
- Improved mod support (allows smaller mod files, and stacking multiple mods).
- Added controls for toggling different hud elements (default keys 1,2,3,4)
- Added a short delay before activating mouse after death to avoid clicking off-screen.
- Fixed kill count and accuracy in stats.
- Added more data for ddstats to use.
- Fixed bug that caused player sounds and music to not play in stereo.
- Fixed centipedes stopping in place when running in to the ground or another enemy.
- Fixed centipedes getting stuck upside down.
- Fixed spiders being pushed around by centipede corpses.
- Replays now only upload if you beat your high score.
- Replays won't try to upload when using a custom spawnset.
- Certain mods will show a warning and not allow scores over 1000 seconds to submit.
Plus more fixes and qol improvements.
Sep 19, 2016 — v3:Linux build and v3 update released!
Devil Daggers v3 update is now available!
The update includes:
- Linux support.
- New enemies and updated progression.
- Top down replay mode. (Press M to toggle)
- Per-user and global stats.
- Windowed mode support.
- Option to disable flashing hand for players sensitive to flashing lights.
- Hide menu text if mouse isn't active.
- Fix replays larger than 2MB failing to upload.
Jul 5, 2016 — v2:Mac build, update and OST
Along with the Mac build we've added a soundtrack and some new game features to PC and Mac:
- 2 new enemies and updated progression.
- Fov slider and vsync options.
- HRTF processing for virtual surround sound when using headphones.
The new version of the game uses a new leaderboard. If you want to watch old replays or play the old version, it's still available by opting in to the "2015" beta in Steam.
